Copyright and takedowns

How to report something that infringes your copyright, and — separately, and with no forms to argue about — how to get a child’s page taken down.

If you own a video and it should not be here

Players upload highlight film. Sometimes that film was shot by a tournament videographer, a filming service, or carries music somebody owns. If content here infringes your copyright, tell us and we will remove it.

Send the following to playerlinkme@gmail.com with “DMCA” in the subject:

  • Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  • Identification of the work you say is infringed, and the exact address of the page or file on playerlink.me.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We act on complete notices promptly, remove or disable the content, and tell the account holder what was removed and why. An account holder may send a counter-notice.

Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.

Club crests and school marks

A club uploads its own crest and confirms it has the right to do so. If a crest here is yours and should not be, email us and we will remove it — no formal notice required.

We do not display college or university logos anywhere on this service. Where a school is named, it is named in plain text.

If you want a child’s page taken down

This one has no form and no requirements. If you are a parent, guardian, or anyone with a reasonable concern about a page featuring a minor, email us and we will take it offline while we work out who should be making the decision.

We take the page down first and ask questions afterwards. A page that is offline for a week by mistake costs a family very little. The reverse mistake costs a child a great deal.

You do not need an account, you do not need to prove anything up front, and you do not need to explain yourself at length. Send the address of the page.

Reporting anything else

Impersonation, a profile created by someone with no right to create it, harassment through the contact form, or a recommendation used to abuse a player — all go to the same address, and all get the same treatment: acted on first, investigated second.

Questions about any of this go to playerlinkme@gmail.com. See also Privacy, Terms and Copyright.
